I tried a flash drive - installation failed

Next I tried a SD card - installation succeeded :) even the ads display during installation are scrambled and unreadable.

So there is an issue to install Ubuntu 24-04 on any device other than a SD card. I frankly cannot understand why Ubuntu 24-04 is certified for a Raspberry running from a SD card only :?:
'Raspberry Pi Imager' gave errors during installation on a USB drive. Got a smooth installation, using the trusted balenaEtcher, on a USB drive.
