This may or may not be directly related to you running "CasaOs". It's not an OS I'm familiar with so cannot comment on it and have assumed that it's just another Linux distribution. You may find their support channels a better place to ask for help with their OS. Most of us on here run Raspberyr Pi OS.

- How are you mounting the drive?
- Where are you mounting the drive?
- What mount options are you using?
- Did you set permissions before or after the drive was mounted?
- How did you set them?
- What are the actual on disc owner, group, and permissions of both the directory you're trying to write into and of an existing file in that directory?
- What user is the process attempting to write running under?
- Do you see the same behaviour when using RPi OS?
