Out of curiosity - can you point to where its stated here that asking for help on commercial issues is no go?
As far as I know it isn't. This is my personal position (though I believe others share it). Nowhere did I claim that it's the position of RPL (who fund the forum) nor did I claim that I represent them.
If I missed that during sign-up sincere apologies. Happy to pay for support (and we do in many cases) - however we assumed (like the other 10000's of tech forums for products) that community support is always a first option.
If others choose to provide free support that's fine. I don't knowingly do so. See my sig.
For the record we are actually developing a in-house solution for a non-profit where we have "End Users" that are not tech savy and prefer to put their time towards helping families in need and not mucking around with tech. However that has nothing to do with the question we asked.
Not directly no. But leading with that would have help me make an informed decision.
pm me if you have an actual solution and are looking for compensation - otherwise contribute to the solution and others can benefit from it as well - but save the tone for actual issues.
AIUI PMs on this forum were disabled some years ago as there are minors present and it was/is the easiest way to deal with UK/EU data and child protection laws.
While I won't provide any further direct support I will point you at someting I made public some time ago and also point out that it was tested with RPiOS Bookworm before I published it: section 3 of Bookworm vs Bullseye - A Guide has a number of methods to resolve or work around NM's zeroconf behaviour.
Your other options are to uninstall network manager and install dhcpcd or to use Raspberry Pi OS legacy instead of Bookworm as Legacy does not use Network Manager. That may not be an option if using the Pi 5 though.
FYI, that guide and all my others are released under a CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license. As for the NC* part I don't have a problem with organisations using it internally whether they are commercial or non-profit. I do have a problem if they are charging for it (or breaching that license in any other way).
*: Non Commercial
