But I was under the impression that the USB-C port was supposed to be used as a power supply? How would I go about powering the unit while using the USB-C port for something else?
Some sort of splitter adaptor that feeds in the power and splits off the data.

Or you can power using the +5V and 0V pins on the GPIO header, but PD won't work with that. You'd need to set the configuration variables for a 5A supply.

Be careful with that as you might end up backfeeding power to the USB host.
So basically I'd need some kind of split wire with one end dedicated to power (AB1-4-9-12) and the other to data (AB2-3-5-6-7-8-10-11)?
If I have a wire splitter that respects the above split, would that prevent backfeeding or is that still a risk?
