This is already discussed in the thread above, Four 8mm screws are required and I believe the suggestion has been put forward to change the supplied screws. I believe they are M2.5 size pan head.While fitting mine earlier today I've discovered it doesn't if you screw the standoffs in...The M.2 HAT will fit in the official case (although it was not designed to do so), but you need to remove the fan plate and if you want to, add an active cooler. You won't be able to fit the final top lid. It's not ideal, but it is what it is.
Screw heads on the bottom of the Pi5 stop it seating in the case. The screws are not long enough to screw through the case and into the standoff thread, it's at least 3mm too short by my estimation.
Which is a bit disappointing as it was tagged as compatible.
