It will be fine.Hello all,
I wasn't sure which section to post this in but here goes.
I have an automotive project that I'll be looking to use a Pi4 or Pi5 for alongside an aftermarket 4 inch round LCD screen. The screen and it's driver board use 2A @5V and the Pi will be at least an amp. Now I know in general that just cos a PSU says X amount of amps output doesn't mean that amount is always there. It regulates the current dependant on load it sees from the connected devices. Now the Pi5 has a power management chip but the 12V to 5V DC converters out there have no data connection and so have no smarts to talk with the Pi.
So my question is whether or not using a dumb DC converter will be a problem with the Pi or not?
