As for the above, could there be a situation in which the programmer / user somehow does not know their board does not have i2c? Hard to imagine if you are paying attention to what you are working with I guess we are just being extra careful here?
Yeah - that is hard to imagine - for sure... perhaps even silly. :)
I think that's the point that Memotech Bill made in an earlier post in this thread.Also, K&R says in The C Programming language about main() and other functions that all other functions are subroutines. So, the word subroutine is accurate for the C programming language. It is a general descriptive term. Think Main program routine, and Sub-routine called by the Main routine, if that makes any sense.
