The manufacturer of the RS485 HAT should have instructions.
Thank you for your reply. [RS485 website][https://www.waveshare.com/rs485-can-hat.html] unfortunately does not provide enough information about the programming on the raspberry Pi side. I also am not sure if it is ok if I connect the 4 gpio pins from the Hat to the ESP32 device that operates at 3.3V. I am planning to use the 3.3V output supply, TX and RX pins and the ground pin from the hat to connect to the esp32. Will it damage the pi or the esp32?

Also [serial connection[https://ww2.mathworks.cn/help/matlab/su ... dware.html] from the website shows this commands that need to be entered. I am not exactly sure where to enter these commands to configure it? Is it on the terminal?

Thank you.
