In respect of the original rp2040 RPi Pico there only seems to be a single instance of official flash_nuke firmware. It works for me.
IIRC that there was initially a different flash nuke for the Pico2 which I think has now been replaced with a universal one for pico, picow and pico2. Hence my question as to which the OP was using. I could have been mistaken though.
