I don't read most of the posts but I occasionally respond to one. If I log in in the morning and there are 4 or 5 pages of posts and I respond to one on the first page, I've lost all the other 4 pages. I can't think of any reason why a forum operator would want such a feature. Using Unread Posts instead brings up many more posts most of which I didn't want to read the first time through.
I don't know much about forum software these days but I've got to think that is not standard behavior?
