I was using ffmpeg and had the same problem. I was hoping that this new libcamera-vid would fix the issue. I am using a USB microphoneThere have been updates in this area recently. Post versoins of relevant programs, what rpicam-apps, kernel, OS etc.
Besides this, it could be your audio hardware, codec or so. Others need to know so they can reproduce.
Use ffmpeg in the chain maybe to fix/workaround it, that always worked for me, local RTMP server, also legacy camera stack.
