Apparently, we sometimes get assigned a “bad” IP address (Southeast Asian country). For example, today, https://www.sparkfun.com displays:

Using VPN displays the regular page (but not all countries allow VPN, or those nodes get blocked even more so).
The nasty thing about Microsoft's GitHub is, that it is shadow banning: as long as logged in, everything looks fine (even if repeatedly logging in there is apparently no indication).
As long as that is the only way to contribute it's possibly best to register a new GitHub account at Starbucks or McDonald's (etc. – if they are in the country). Did never have any problems with GitLab, though.
