As mentioned by @pidd, more details about the project are needed.Evening,
I want to control a traffic light with a Raspberry PI; I have both a PI 4 and a PI 5 but I'm unsure how to go about connecting it.
I wanted to ask in here for direction first before buying the traffic light as it's quite expensive. See https://www.in2access.co.uk/products/2- ... -red-green for the actual light.
Does anyone have any previous experience connecting a PI to things like this? Or to other electrical appliances in general?
Thanks
Since the example lists "Power supply: 9-35V AC or 8-45V D" then you will need to use relays between the PI and traffic lights. You will need a separate power supply for the lights. Something like this https://www.pishop.ca/product/2-channel ... rry-pi-5v/ will work off the +3.3 GPIO pins plus make use of the +5 power. It has opto isolation to prevent any backfeed that could fry the PI.
