Troubleshooting • Re: Raspberry Pi is dead after power outage

Using a Pi 4 to run a bitcoin node. Live in a large apartment building and the Pi is plugged into a surge protector. Power went out the other night and now the pi is dead. I've unplugged it a couple days and tried using a different plug but still not working. I don't have any tools to test whether there's power and live in a country where I don't have easy access to buy new components. Anything I replace will have to be ordered online and wait at least one week.

Is there anything else to consider before I write it off as fried? The unit is completely dead (no red or green lights or sounds at all) so I'm assuming it's inside the pi and not the SSD or SD card.
I would check the power supply before writing off the PI. If there are no LEDs at all; that seems to me to be the most likely scenario. If you don't have a multimeter to check the supply, the only way really is to try another one.

If you don't have another official power supply; you could try a phone charger...It probably won't be able to actually run the Pi, but it might provide sufficient power to light the LED. That might help you to confirm that the problem lies with the power supply.

I would also attempt to eliminate the possibility that the fault actually lies with another component by disconnecting all peripherals and removing the SD card, then connecting to the power...Do any LEDs come on?
