Networking and servers • PiVPN using SSH Reverse Proxy

Folks, curious as to if there are any obvious security implications here.

Until recently I had a Pi running PiVPN and PiHole on my network. Not only did the VPN function give me a secure method of using WiFi when
away from home it also allowed that connection access to servers on my home network. That all changed when a found out a new internet provider used CGNAT.

Now I am experimenting with using a reverse proxy SSH connection to an ubuntu Oracle Cloud system I run Success but connection erratic, initially VPN connects fine (had to change to TCP rather than UDP) but after a few intentional disconnects it then fails to reconnect and I am not sure why. My complication is three connections involved so not sure where the failure occurs. I ssh into PiVPN (headless) using TMUX to keep connection open, then connect to Oracle using Reverse Proxy. At this point if I then use my mobile phone and an OpenVPN client it all connects, I successfully have access to local network too.

What I would like opinions on is the security aspect, key based authentication is used for the SSH connection and OpenVPN config files for the final connection. It appears secure but opinions appreciated as to whether accessing my home network via a Thirds Party server is an issue?
