I don't want to give a service I know nothing about my phone number for SMS verification

You could try Gmail and determine for yourself if it would be easier. Do you know anything about Google?

to be honest, I am not liking the fact, I came here for help and I am having to research everything myself
I know the scrips copilot was giving looked simpler for Gmail as I don't think its locked down as much
