Yes but Pimoroni aren't making any such guarantees on their device.
RPL can stock untested processed wafers of their own ICs to give you some future guarantee, but Infineon do request end of life orders, although nowhere near as often as one particular US company I won't name. But in my previous position I used to have 10% of R&D dedicated to designing out EOL parts rather than purchasing large quantities.
So if you were RPL, how many would you order AND have to pay for upfront as is common in EOL orders ?
