Quite a bit delayed in this, but
- The pool of free ports on the client workstation is managed by it's OS network stack.
- Firefox makes other requests in the background too (DNS, network connectivity checks etc) which will interrupt the continuity.
- There will be other periodic tasks running on the workstation that access the network stack (OS automatic updates, the OS's premium service checks, exploit frameworks that have compromised the workstation etc.)(which will further interrupt the continuity).
