Use "lsusb -t" to confirm the connection topography of your cameras. To work over 30m you should have USB repeaters built into the cable.
I can think of no particular reason why two webcams on different USB controllers should have issues.
Can you run commands 1 & 2 from simultaneously from 2 different terminal windows?
Not that command 4 is referencing video1 for the second webcam, not video2 as in the other examples. Is that just a typo?
