Raspberry Pi 5 finally got Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS working
Well probably doing many things wrong!
  1. Using an OS being managed by PINN. (Just to convenient considering the flexibility!)
  2. Not using SD to boot OS (See 1...)
  3. Using Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS vs Raspios (See 1)
I didn't realize that editing the eeprom configuration is not a 1 step process. After configuring an SD card with Raspios and booting said SD, configuration worked and all is good in Raspberry Pi 5 land.

BTW: On another note. I have had the lock ups on booting PINN. At one time, I just opened a virtual terminal before trying to use the mouse with GUI and it worked. I also noted that during boot on Ubuntu systemd-udev-settle.service is run. Could it be that when PINN GUI comes up that device configuration is not finished?

A big thank you to all who have helped in this journey. I have been trying to get a stable Ubuntu LTS running on SSD since May (that is with PINN of course).
