It seems the only way to get this to work is to edit the db.txt file and create my own regulatory.db-debian file. I have tried following this guide:
https://askubuntu.com/questions/1165300 ... ifi-device
I just need to get channel 161 (frequency 5735 to 5835) to be allowed for GB country code, not increase the transmit power. The guide above is, I think, for a Pi4 and not up to date. Does anybody know how to help me out with this?
Changing the wifi Country code does not actually achieve much as it simply reverts back to GB as soon as it connects to the wifi AP. Is there another board I should be asking this? It is a bit more kernel related rather than networking.
It is odd that the Pi5 won't connect to CH 161 as I see that the Ofcom relaxed the restrictions for that channel a few years back for indoor use.
