edit: everything works like desired now on the TX&RX lines with the connected test points at the bottom of the cm5 , like shown on the picture above ...

I just realized that the IO board's 40-pin connector doesn't have UART.
Can you detail a bit more how you did it?
I guess, soldering to the cm5 isn't that trivial...
