With the 'active' part i meant if it was a thunderbolt capable cable. Those are called active usb c cables because they have chips inside them. Regular old usb c cables can't for example plug into a thunderbolt dock. i have a 100W power cable but it only supports up to usb 3.2. Thanks for testing thoughsorry, but you're wrong; just a simple cable with no 'active' parts inside.
EDIT:
I will try with an active cable just to be sure bit i think apple have fixed the issue on the m4 or maybe even m3 mac. We only have access to M1 and M2 macs and an active cable is a lot cheaper than a new macbook :]
