I like to share some thoughts on how the raspberry pi did some things better than the tinkerboard.

I have a tinkerboard 2 from 2022 which replaced the pi3 that i later sold, as i needed android back then. however the tinkerboard had some quirks, as listed below.

1: the tinkerboard 2 was incapable of powering on by USB power port, as it had a barrel jack, so i used an old generic power adapter which died in less than a year, and i havent been able to use the board since then

As seen in above photo of my tinkerboard, the usb power port exist, but never worked, even with a 30v usb power plug.

By comparison the pi5 has a newer cpu, but it retained a fully working USB power port, which was much more convenient.

2: the tinkerboard ran android fine, but there was no RetroPi distro made for it, and no ubuntu, or much of any alternative linux os.

By comparison the raspberry pi has various linux distros available, and can run android and windows.

my co-worker occasionally needed my help with the pi3 that i sold him. And i recently setted up a used pi2 for a friend with lakka, raspian and riscOS....etc. anywho i was just surprised they were still updated, and just worked.

So now im the only one stuck with a unuseable SBC because i cannot find a new psu for tinkerboard. for the record i love Asus, and the tinkerboard even has support for direct x. But the lesson here is that, an unfamiliar board can be a hassle, especially with low software support.
