Hallo. I arranged a LAN as it follows : one PC, one RPI5 and one Ethernet switch. PC holds IP static address (198.162.2.1) while RPI holds 192.168.2.2. Subnet masks 255.255.255.0 (24) on both machines. From Pc i am able to ping RPI correctly, but not viceversa. Cables are OK meaning I did exchange them. It is so simple, I have no idea whatelse to check for. The ping command I issue on RPI addressing PC does not go out for timeout or any other errors, but simply ... stays there with a white mark . I have to issue Ctrc-C to go back to command line. Which settings do I miss on the Eth0 card ? What else .... Thanks in advace for any help. Gf.
The default behavior for windows is to block i/c pings. Check your windows firewall settings. Also, I think changing the network windows to private may make a difference.
