Compute Module • Re: Computation Module 5 and AI HAT+

I would like to design a custom board based on computation module 5 io reference schematic. The project involves AI HAT+ on this custom hardware.

For the case Raspberry Pi 5 & AI HAT+, there are a flex cable connection in addition to the 40 Pin GPIO header. However in IO board there are no connectors for this flex cable.

Suppose this flex cable connection is related to M2 PCIe, but not much info on that. Do you have any idea on it?
Welcome new user!
Might be a little above your head that 'project' as you seem to be lacking some basic details:

- the 'flex cable connection' is the external PCIe interface - what you need to know is here https://datasheets.raspberrypi.com/pcie ... andard.pdf
- the CM5IO uses the external PCIe interface - which is single-lane - for the M.2 connector -> details can be found from the users manual https://datasheets.raspberrypi.com/cm5/ ... asheet.pdf and the design files https://rpltd.co/cm5io-design-files
- the CM5 data sheet is here https://datasheets.raspberrypi.com/cm5/ ... asheet.pdf
- AI HAT+ might need additional power from the GPIO40 (depending on which one you may want to connect) and will need I2C interface from GPIO40 to be auto-detected
