Exactly what I said.using 'path' as a directory name is probably okay, but again, I wouldn't do it.
True. But it seems like there should be some other way of de-fanging the auto-mounter. A way to tell it to leave a certain drive alone. As you know, I do not recommend "fstab" to beginners (as this OP self-identifies).Stop relying on the desktop's automounter and use fstab instead. See the second link I provided above.
