The official PSU's have always been the most reliable choice, one of several reasons is the hefty 18AWG cable which is thicker than most "charger" type devices.
The Pi's power consumption varies with the load so that a higher cable resistance causes more fluctuation in the delivered voltage at the Pi end.
A longer cable might pick up more interference I guess.
