Hawk77,Hi there,
I am working on a project to use Pi-hole to control the internet access from my kids' devices. I pretty much followed the instructions given below.
https://www.raspberrypi.com/tutorials/r ... pberry-pi/
Detailed steps are:
1. From my router's admin webpage, assigned a static IP address to my Raspberry 3 on which Pi-hole has been installed.
2. Disable the router as a DHCP server
3. In Pi-hole admin webpage, enabled the raspberrypi as the DHCP server.
Till the step 3, it seems working just fine. I can monitor the wifi connections from all devices from the Pi-hole admin webpage.
However, after I assigned a static IP address to one of my kids' device, the wifi connections from all my devices were lost. Even the raspberrypi lost the IP address.
I had to reset the router to the factory default to recover the internet access.
Could you please help? Thanks.
Many Pi-Hole tutorials found on the Internet are old, unmaintained, out of date, and out right wrong. I would suggest visiting the Pi-Hole website and use their tutorials to install and customize Pi-Hole.
