If the Windows PC is blue screening then there is an issue at the PC end. Nothing on USB and/or SSH should be able to make the PC blue-screen although it was a common problem many years ago (up to Windows 95 era?).
Ignoring the first paragraph, low pressure also has low humidity and static build-up can be more common, especially in plastic chambers. Check if you can see any corresponding discharges in the dark after letting your eyes adapt for a reasonable period of time.
