@TommyBills have a think on how the VC are connected when there is no POE HAT connected on the CM4IO board . The Ethernet ESD diodes are upto you , without them especially if non compliant POE injectors you may find the Ethernet phy gets damaged.
@Ventran have a look at the center taps are connected on the CM4IO board ( have a look at the magjack symbol)
