Compute Module • CM5 USB3.0 Type C Port

Hi! I’m designing a CM5 carrier board and want to have one 3.0 Type C port. I’m currently using a USB 3.0 MUX to wire up the type C port however I had a different idea to avoid needing it. Is it possible to simply take the two USB 3.0 signals provided by the CM5 and hoot them up to a single USB 3.0 port? If I’m correct it should just show up as two different USB ports when the connector is flipped but still function at 3.0 speeds?

Would appreciate thoughts on this!
