From my experience, LAN side dhcpv6 server is usually disabled on the router. The router sends RAs to advertise:
/64 prefix
default route
dns
If the /64 prefix changes then the contents of the the RAs are updated. In response to the updated RAs, the RPI should deprecate or delete (I have seen both behaviours) the old prefixes
