Networking and servers • Re: Speedtest for Upload for Raspberry Pi OS Bullseye (for a Zero 2W)?

The question is: why is the download rate with "speedtest" so much lower?
Very likely because it's a Pi Zero (2W) on 2.4 GHz WiFi.

In my experience, wireless performance on Pi computers is not great, but it works. For example, my 4B on 5GHz WiFi just got 80.90 Mbit/s download and 88.99 Mbit/s upload from speedtest.net on a 200/200 connection. Much faster than my Pi02W, but still not great. However, reconnecting the 4B to my 2.4 GHz network results in only 31.86 down and 41.17 up...

My laptop, sitting on the same desk, just got, 274.44 down and 258.16 up, which is not only much faster than my Pi computers, it's faster than I expected (apparently our Internet service has been upgraded from 200/200).

I believe I've seen just north of 100 on my Pi4B from time to time, but nothing close to our ISP bandwidth (and most of the time it's <100mbps).
