Ok, where were we?Which warning do you have?
Do you use ttymidi-rpi?
If you use another ttymidi daemon, make sure to shut down ttymidi-rpi, because only one process should access the serial port.
RIght, I have the SLIM MIDI HAT working with SEQ64, I have both Midi OUT and IN from and to the Pi4B.
Now I would like to implement the 23017 encoder + 4 switches stuff.
I have also tried again with Zynthian OS, it's interesting to see development over there also, bit for the moment,
I will concentrate on the rpi-img you sent me and the one I made myself, which both works on the Pi4B.
Have you tried SooperLooper on the raspberry? There is this sampler in both Zynthian and Linux.
It's really cool. I would love to get 4 midi CC encoders that I can freely assign to any parameter.
What is the best way to transform the 4 i2c enc to Midi CC permanently (+4 midi switches)?
