While growing vegetables is clearly more useful than mathematics or computer science, teaching school children to back up files is likely a more important life skill than sewing, carpentry or iron munging. While on a recent trip my wife's Windows laptop was kept in an non air-conditioned second floor room. Upon returning it did not not boot. Also not having rock solid backups we feared the elevated temperatures caused the bits to leak out of the SSD. Fortunately, Shy and Purr were able to rescue the data using a live Linux distribution.
Hopefully the person making the original post has not lost any files.
