I want Windows 25.
I don't. I want application software that is OS and CPU architecture agnostic.
That sounds like Java and Kotlin. According to Purr the Pi 4 and 5 both run architecture-agnostic JVM binaries well. Scratchy pounced on Purr. They slid off the computing desk, landed on their feet and disappeared. According to what
RUST acts like a shipbuilder constructing an unsinkable vessel. The borrow checker acts as the inspector, making sure every part of your ship is in top-notch condition. This way, you can sail smoothly without worrying about common errors causing your ship to sink or Pirates to hijack it due to forgotten leaks in your defenses.

Shy couldn't figure out why Scratchy thought a native development environment that automatically downloads libraries from random developers was secure, architecture agnostic or unsinkable and meowed something about icebergs and the .NET platform. I questioned what icebergs had to do with this thread and whether .NET was OS agnostic. The remaining kitten looked shyly at the ground and continued editing the Visual Basic. Productivity is too slow to get distracted by hobby operating systems.

To bring things back on topic, a major difficulty when developing OS agnostic code are the different windowing systems. In the case of Microsoft Windows there is one API. With Linux there are now two. Luckly NeWS, Workbench, NeXTSTEP and Quartz Compositor are not under consideration. At the same time, code that supports both Wayland and X11 in Linux is much more complex than if everything ran under Windows 25.
