I have the OS 32-bit for Pi 3 B loaded and the desktop runs reasonably well. However the web browsers crawl painfully slow even though CPU is ~20-30% and memory ~33%.Raspberry Pi OS is my recommendation. 32 bit and 64 bit should both run.
Any ideas why Firefox and Chromium are sooooo slowwww!
