I took a RPi3B from buster to bookworm to trixie with only minor problems. I uninstalled libc6, then re-installed it, and that seemed to quell the screaming banshees. I'm doing this again, now, on a RPi4/5. I don't think it's very nice to expect people to start with a Clean Installation. I've got scores of hours of work into these machines to make them do what they are supposed to do. Are we really expected to completely rebuild every system from scratch, just to get an OS update? :-/
