That won't help. It's exactly equivalent to what OP has, which isn't working.
Of course it will. If he uses 30A mains cable the voltage drop in the cable becomes 7.4 milliOhms per meter, so the total voltage drop will be
V = I × R ≈ 1.5 A × 74mΩ x 2 ≈ 0.24 V lost

A large capacitor on the terminals at the far end will also help handle surges.
