Just came upon this thread. Just to be sure I'm understanding correctly - this means that there is no way to show a splash screen before full boot on any display connected via DSI?
And since it goes through the RP1 - any concept of doing this would require very heavy modding of the bootloader, correct?
Currently, on a brand new install of Pi OS Trixie lite, I don't see any splash screen image on the Touch Display 2 at all - the screen is black from when the boot starts, until about 20 seconds later when the tty appears. Connecting an HDMI cable shows me a pink raspberry splash screen from about 3 seconds in, my custom splash from ~15 seconds in, and the tty appears after ~25s overall.
Is there any way to make this appear over the DSI? Maybe even just the second part with my custom splash screen?
If not, this is rather frustrating - and makes using the DSI connectors for any kind of embedded display much less attractive. I don't want users to need to wait 25s until they get any indication that something is going on.
Thank you!!
