I think some people would consider a 3.5 percent increase significant. A more noticeable impact of larger page sizes is likely executable launch and cleanup times.Stockfish running under kernel "2712" was only 3.5% (i.e., nothing) better than running under kernel "8".
Weirdly, the main advantage might be to root out weird dependences on page size such as the one in Maxima so they can be fixed.
