I got my pi 5 4GB in the post yesterday. Installed RetroPie on top of Raspberry Pi OS (no desktop environment) and changed the kernel to kernel8.img see here:-

https://github.com/raspberrypi/bookworm ... issues/107

Now I've got Dreamcast, Saturn, PSP and all that good stuff through RetroPie. Haven't played far so could still be buggy and not optimised (can't get GameCube or PS2 properly working yet without the desktop).

Not official with an image yet but it only took an hour including the building and tinkering
I've been trying to run RetroPie, or at least EmulationStation from the desktop environment of Bookworm 64bit. Any thoughts on how to accomplish this? EmulationStation is great because you can not only switch between emulators and games effortlessly in a nice GUI, but you can bluetooth your PS5 controller to it as well and use that. I found a way you can supposedly do it but you have to be running a 32bit version of the OS.
Here's that:

Let me know if you can get it to work in 64bit Bookworm desktop and launch it like an app. I'd love to dedicate my second monitor to gaming and my primary monitor to the desktop.
