I do. The very notion of securing "Freedom" by taking away freedoms is anathema to me, and GPL enforces that dubious philosophy. As far as I am concerned, GPL and "copyleft" licensing are cancers which people have been suckered into embracing when they should have been resisting.I don't have anything against Free Software, I don't have anything against GPL.
I do understand the angle Stallman and supporters are coming from; it's just that I don't agree with their fundamental philosophy. And I cannot accept their view that permissively licenced Open Source Software, which delivers maximal freedom, takes away "Freedom".
And, while I do encourage rejecting GPL and "copyleft", won't contribute to such projects myself, I am not such a 'philosophy zealot' that I reject using GPL or "copyleft" software, nor insist that others should either.
Debate on software licensing, greater understanding of the philosophies and ideologies behind the options, can only be healthy but they are, for the most part, for most people, a distant second to being able to get on with what they want to achieve to benefit themselves or others.
