I'm assuming this was done just to prove it could be done and to learn.

Most RPi documents would not work because you are using an old OS from July 2024 based on the kernel version and it is also 32bit (bit)
The cards come with 32bit for backwards compatibility. I don't think that has changed on their official A2 cards with Trixie as I've not seen one.
Bookworm was 32bit on them but can check as had some recently.

Simplest is just to use the laptop with Pi Imager and set it up from there. Now at v2.0.3 and should work compared to when you started this.
It is normally always the easier method, even if it came on the uSD card. They are designed for Desktop Initial setup like a Pi500 where you get your setup questions. Not headless.

Anyway hope you had fun.
Now flash 64bit Trixie Desktop to it, just plain no setup configured and see if the methods still works.
Dear @bensimmo,

Thanks for your response.

Good idea re 64bit Trixie Desktop flash to MicroSD Card. Will definitely give that a go if I get something like a RPi 5. However it would be good to see RPi OS Trixie Desktop and to get a chance to assess it.

Provide an excuse to use the RPi Imager for the first time.

Have seen in some Raspberry Pi documentation that the RPi OS Lite is recommended for the RPi Zero . Which would have to be headless but might allow WiFi access if configured through RPi Imager.

Only have two 32gig MicroSD Cards at the moment. One of which I want to flash Ubuntu LTS 24.04.3 core to and test run on RPi Zero 2 W. Hoping the same connectivity through integration board RPi Debug Probe or CP2102 USB TTL will work to Ubuntu core.

Yes the learning experience has been invaluable. Failure until success being one of the tried and tested best learning methods. And the help of the good people on this forum.

Yours,
York
