Adding additional information not only because there haven't been any replies yet, but also due to me doing a little extra test out of curiosity. It's left me completely baffled.
So, when a keyboard is plugged in to this Pi Zero, it doesn't send input to the Pi and the lights (Num/Scroll/Caps locks) don't turn on. This, to me, seems indicative of an issue with power not going through the port.
BUT when I plugged the Pi into a computer through the OTG adapter (no power supply, no HDMI output, just the device itself on the USB port), it turns on??? The status LED turns on and starts flashing as it would normally during boot/disk WR. What is going on here? Because this now rules out power not going through the port at all. Something else is happening, and I can't for the life of me figure it out.
