I'm trying to figure out the usage of PTP for my network, too, and try to document my work in this fork https://github.com/by/rpi_uputronics_st ... _tuning.md, albeit I have to admit that I still do have a lot to learn!
My setup consist primarily of two Raspberry Pi 5: one server, connected to an Uputronics u-blox ZED-F9P module, with gpsd and ntpsec (provisioning nts services to the internet) as well as one (primary) client , connected to an Uputronics u-blox MAX-8 module, also with gpsd and ntpsec. – The plan is to have the server drive PTP and the client picking up PTP but not directly changing the system clock but leverage SHM 2 to feed into the client's ntpsec as an additional choice plus backup if GPS and/or internet fail; and ideally vice versa, whichever Pi has teh more precise timing.
