I haven’t seen the diagnostic screen, nothing is displayed with just HDMI and power, the only time I’ve ever gotten anything to display was with the bootloader. The most basic test - do you see the diagnostic screen when powered with hdmi screen and no sd card?
What does it say about hdmi and power? Post a photo.
Sorry but that makes no sense. Do you mean with the specialised image that reflashes the bootloader EEPROM? If so did you see a red or a green screen (yeah, I know, those colour choices aren't very good if you suffer from the most common type of colour blindness).
With a successfully flashed EEPROM of the correct type for your board (i.e. the Pi5 one not the Pi4 one) booting with no boot media attached and just a monitor should give you the standard diagnostics screen.
Another option, if you have the hardware, would be to monitor the serial output on the Pi5's debug connector. You need another PI or a USB to 3.3v TTL serial adapter and the appropriate wire(s).
