You still have not stated the type of DC-DC converter you have.

Is it a buck converter (probably) or a boost converter (probably not)? You need a boost converter.

The part is MT3608 2A boost converter .

I hope you didn't supply your Pi with 16V. The results will not be good unless you like your Pi fried. The upper voltage limit for the supply to a Pi is 5.25V
I did .... before measuring the voltage ... Possibly the 40pin bus controller is fried ? The PI still turns on when plugged in with the PI plugin adaptor .

What to use to bump the voltage to 5.25 if TP4056 gives already 4V ? Or are there any alternatives ? Should I better use the Adafruit Powerboost 1000 ?
