You bought stuff that came without documentation, and it is the pi's fault that you can't put it together?
Whoever sold you whatever kit you bought without instructions is what really sucks, not the pi.
If you're going to smash anything, might as well make a project out of it. Please post pictures of it before and after the smashing.
Now help us help you. Which exact screen did you buy? Model, manufacturer, brand? Even a link to the screen you bought would help us see what you are dealing with. And which Pi, 0, 0w, 3, 4,.5, cm3, cm4?
